
| The Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas Club was founded in Rogers, Arkansas in 1977 by a small group of carvers. The annual shows were started in 1978. It was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on June 5, 1984. The Club has steadily grown and now has over 50 members. Weekly carve-in meetings are at the Foxfire building just off West Walnut on 37th Street on Sundays and Tuesdays from 1 to 4 PM and Thursday nights from 6 to 8 PM. The club has a very extensive library with over 350 books, videos, DVDs and carving helps including over 30 resin go-bys that can be checked out for 2 weeks at a time. Books include every aspect of carving including painting and final finishing. Many of the books are step by step help to show you the process to completely carve the item on your own. Birds, chip carving, wood burning, bark carving, relief carving are just a few of the projects you can do utilizing this extensive resource. Some tools are also available including a wood burning set. |
